Delta Star Fusion - Tidepool

Delta - Tidepool

There were eight of these stunning pens made by Delta for Chatterley Pens, this is #1 of 8 with a beautifully smooth Fusion Nib with a Stub width.

The pen body, that of the Dolce Vita, is the perfect size for my hand. The pen is about 145 mm in length. The cellulose acetate used to create the eight pens is a blend of dark and light browns with some green. It does look like the colours and fragments visuals often found in a tidalpool. A visually interesting material. The pen is fitted with gold vermeil trim. Gold vermeil is gold plated sterling silver.

The pen uses the well designed Delta piston fill mechanism. It holds a good amount of ink. I like the rachette style of the piston. Clicks are heard when you have twisted the piston up all the way.

The pen is fitted with an 18kt gold plated Number 6 Fusion Nib and just what I wanted for some serious writing in this year's travel journal. I will be adding to My Travels in Italy as soon my notes are all organized. The pen came in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad or Stub nibs, and for me, this had to be a Stub.

The metal trim on the pen is classic Delta, and is is gold vermeil (gold plate with 025 Sterling Silver).

Delta, Chatterly Pen

Delta made a series of pen, the Chatterley Star Collection, for Chatterley Pen. This is one of the Star series, in the Dolcevita Oro body.

I had the pleasure of visiting with the folks at Delta at their factory, located just outside of Naples. When talking with the Delta folks, they were pleased that because of their method of production, they are able to work and turn out pens in relatively small production numbers.
